Corina's passion for helping people is reflected in all her efforts and is fueled by the desire to support those in need.  She supports the local community with a small business and a non-profit, BmoreLatina, which helps disadvantaged women and children build economic independence and empowerment through understanding how to navigate the paths to the success achieved by upward mobility of the American Dream.  A Los Angeles native with a Harford County, MD upbringing, her business in construction cleaning is built upon her blue-collar roots.  As a compassionate business owner, she understands the success of building a business is achieved by demonstrating leadership and support for her employees and the communities they represent. In 2016, she won the title "Woman of the Year" for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society in a victorious fundraising effort to support baby Brielle and her grandfather's legacy.

I started it after 5 failed attempts at law school.

Who are your clients?

Friends and referrals.

What impact has being a member of the MDHCC had on you and your business?

I have learned so much in such a short amount of time.

What is the most important lesson you have learned from being a business owner or in your current position?

You don’t know what you don’t know. Take advice from others, be open-minded and believe in people.

Why did you choose Maryland as the place in which to do business?

I grew up in Harford County – it’s the kind of place where people take care of each other.

What has this year been like?

This year has been full of learning, self-reflecting, switching gears and growing.

What is the hardest decision you have had to make in your business?

The hardest decision I had to make was to take a step back to restructure in order to move forward.

Describe a typical day in your life.

Every day is insane from the moment I wake – but if I’m not out networking, I am at my office with my dog, Waffles.

If you had to go back and do it again…would you? What would you change?

I would start with a mentor. And yes, of course I would do it all over again!

What business and leadership advice can you give our members?

If you are a business with employees, take care of them.

What inspires you?

People. Helping women and children.

Who is your mentor?

Dinette Rivera

Bachata, Merengue or Salsa?

Salsa – but I need a little liquid courage and a partner who can lead.

What is your favorite Spanish Word?

Besos.
