Dear members and friends,

¡Saludos!

By the time you read this we will be less than 3 weeks until the MDHCC’s highly anticipated official launch of the Greater Baltimore Regional Chapter (GBRC). We have confirmed that Baltimore Mayor, Catherine Pugh, and Anne Arundel County Executive, Steve Schuh, will be in attendance and delivering the keynote addresses. Please be sure to RSVP early as our last event reached full capacity: www.mdhcc.org/event/MDHCC-Networking-After-5-September-2017

The GBRC is the first of 6 regional chapters established under the MDHCC’s bylaws in order to “carry out MDHCC's strategies and activities designed to advance MDHCC’s purposes and strategic objectives within their geographic boundaries, and shall be focused principally on providing members with promotion, partnerships, procurement advice and participation on a year-round basis.”

This structure is intended to increase direct member benefit and value by providing a local and responsive platform to address local business issues; providing access through established local government relations to decision makers and policy influencers; and providing access to the entire MDHCC membership comprised of other regional and local chapters throughout the State.

At the heart of the GBRC is the BAM! Program, which will be piloted on a smaller scale before its statewide rollout. We have been doing a lot of work behind the scenes to identify corporate partners and mentors to provide access to procurement opportunities and advice for small business members to increase their involvement in the procurement process for their enterprises and for the City of Baltimore, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County, Howard County and Hartford County.

As our regional chapters grow and expand, more counties, more cities, and more corporate partners will participate which will result in rich opportunities for our members in their region and throughout the state of Maryland.

We are excited at the progress we have made in 2017 and are looking forward to our strategic planning session on September 15th. If you have any suggestions, ideas, and petitions, or are interested in finding out more about being part of the leadership team of our chapters, please email me directly at chair@mdhcc.org.

Onward!
