1. What is the focus of Essex Bank?

At Essex Bank, we pride ourselves in creating an experience for our customers that outshines that of any other bank.

 

2. Why did you decide to join Essex Bank?

I have worked for Essex Bank for 11 years. I started as a part-time teller while I went to school full time. I enjoy coming to work and my co-workers are great. I fell in love with my job and its endless opportunities. Essex Bank is a great place to work and you will always be in good company. You would love to work here too. Visit us anytime! We are the friendliest bank in town.

 

3. What is the most important lesson you have learned from being a business owner or in your current position?

The most important lesson I have learned is to always expect the unexpected. Change is always a constant and can be a great thing.

 

4. What business and leadership advice can you give our members?

The best advice I can give is advice that was given to me by a colleague who was at one time my manager/ leader: Always be diplomatic. Be prepared for changes; they are inevitable. Show your own strengths and bring out the strengths of the ones you lead. Be loyal to them because you are all on the same team. And don’t forget that a smile goes a long ways.

 

5. Who is your mentor?

My grandmother was my mentor and I still remember the lessons she taught me. I think of them when I am having a tough day or when I make decisions. She always thought positively. Her advice to me was always to never to use the word hate. She would say, “If you don’t like someone, just say that the person is not your favorite person. You probably don’t hate them.”

6. What is your favorite Spanish Word?

El fin de semana.

 

7. Café…con leche y azucar or black?

Con leche y azucar.
