Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Leaders
Attend Chamber Training Institute Program

Baltimore, MD—June 23, 2017—The Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (MDHCC), the leading chamber of commerce representing and connecting over 54,000 Hispanic-owned businesses in the region, , joined chamber and non-profit leaders from across the country for a continuing education program held in Washington, D.C. on June 12th and 13th. The seminar, which focused on Strategic Development for non-profits, was part of the Chamber Training Institute offered by the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce along with three other national Chambers and sponsored by Wells Fargo.

MDHCC Chairman and President, Jorge Eduardo Castillo, Board Secretary and Marketing Chair, Corey Grunert, Greater Baltimore Regional Chapter President, Corina Morga and Administrative and Marketing Coordinator, Brandon Warehime represented the MDHCC at the training.

“The seminar was such a valuable experience,” said Corey Grunert. “Being surrounded by other driven professionals with multi-faceted approaches to how they serve their chamber members brought so much practical experience to every topic that our class covered. I know we all emerged better-prepared to deliver more value to our Chamber.”

Continuing education programs are essential to the development and competitiveness of any organization, and from Castillo’s perspective “it’s not weather or not you can afford it, it’s really that you can’t afford not to develop your team, your leaders, your staff. The trick is to get partners on board that are truly invested in the long-term sustainability of your organization to financially support continuing education programs.”

Participants in the CTI program will receive a Non-Profit Certificate from Notre Dame University’s Mendoza School of Business for completion of the program. Corporate Partners interested in learning more about supporting these programs should contact MDHCC’s office.
