Dear members and friends,

We are thrilled to announce that our 5th Annual Business Awards Holiday Gala will take place on January 18, 2017 at The Belvedere in Baltimore. As a special Gala promotion, we are partnering with the Baltimore Business Journal to create our member directory for their December issue and provide members and corporate partners with an opportunity to have notable visibility in the publication. Spaces are limited, so contact Ryan Curran ( for details and to reserve your space.

We look forward to a great MDHCC Networking After 5 celebrating the anticipated official launch of the Greater Baltimore Regional Chapter of the MDHCC, and kicking off Hispanic Heritage Month by recognizing the contributions of our businesses and our community to the our great nation! Our first Regional Chapter, the GBRC, will execute MDHCC’s strategic objectives within the Greater Baltimore geographic boundaries, and shall focus principally on providing members with promotion, partnerships, procurement advice and participation on a year-round basis. Those interested in joining the leadership team of the GBRC should contact Corina Morga, MDHCC’s GBRC President, at

In continuation of our strategic 5-year growth plan, we convened our board and committee members this month for our yearly strategic planning session. Our focus continues to be on improving member benefits by increasing technical assistance, mentorship and participation (like our BAM! Program) and by expanding our local chapters in the next 4 years to further increase member exposure, visibility and business opportunities throughout the state of Maryland.

As such, we have been working behind the scenes laying the groundwork for our next chapters, mainly the MDHCC’s Capital Region Regional Chapter (CRRC) comprised of Prince George’s, Montgomery and Frederick Counties. We have the support and endorsement of Prince George’s County Executive, Rashern L. Baker, III, to establish our Chapter headquarters in P.G. County and will be meeting with the P.G County Economic Development Corporation to discuss details of the expansion.

Regarding the proposed expansion, County Executive Baker stated, “There are tremendous economic opportunities in Prince George’s County and it is important to establish business relationships with local entities to allow for the growth and development of businesses. Hispanic businesses are a critical part of our County’s economic growth and we want to ensure that we continue on the right track to impact more lives and families by creating a climate where job growth and economic development is taking place.”

If you are interested in discussing a leadership position in the CRRC, please contact me directly at

We are excited at the progress we continue to make in 2017 and are looking forward to seeing you at our next Membership Orientation and Economic Outlook Breakfast, our complimentary event series for members and their friends. Remember to bring your friends and other business owners who may be interested in learning more about the MDHCC benefits and programs. I wish you all a successful October and Q4.
