What is the focus of Los Taxes Franchise?

We sell Income Tax Preparation Franchises nationwide.

Why did you decide to start Los Taxes Franchise?

Back in 2005, I was looking for a Latino franchise of tax preparation or an association of Latino tax professionals and I didn’t find any – so I decided to do one as the First Latino Franchise of tax Preparation in the U.S.

Who are your clients?

Entrepreneurs who understand that the Latino market keeps growing and spends more than any other market in the US.

Why did you choose Maryland as the place in which to do business?

I married my wife and she is a Marylander, so I followed her. I’m still in the process of bringing the Headquarters from Brooklyn, NY to MD.

What has this year been like?

Very challenging because we decided to develop the brand by hiring franchise consultants and a business coach to help us with our 5 years business goal.

What are your expansion plans for the future?

We are in the process of finding a venture capitalist to help us not only with funds but specifically with the infrastructure to expand the brand nationwide.

What is the hardest decision you have had to make in your business?

To terminate people who stole from me and I really cared for them.

Describe a typical day in your life.

Creating more strategies to make sure our franchisees will have the tools and resources to become successful.

What business and leadership advice can you give our members?

Surround yourself with positive people and stop giving yourself excuses to justify the lack of commitment to change your lifestyle.

What inspires you?

The discrimination, racism and bigotry we still have in this country. The worst you can do for those who despise you is to become more successful than them.

Who is your mentor?

My father was very detailed oriented, and my mother is the most humble and hardworking lady!

What is your favorite Spanish author and why?

Paulo Coelho for all the beautiful love poems he has.
