What is the focus of Cintas Corporation?

We get our customers “Ready for the Workday”. We offer the following services: uniform & apparel, facility services, first aid & safety, fire protection, compliance training, flame resistant clothing, tile & carpet cleaning, restroom & hygiene solutions.

Why did you decide to join Cintas Corporation?

A close friend referred me to our organization. He told me about the great opportunity with professional development, upward mobility and all of the locations in operation throughout the United States. I was sold on our Corporate Culture and idea that our people are our most valuable asset.

What is the most important lesson you have learned from being a business owner or in your current position?

In my current position I’ve learned how valuable a sustained process is for long term success for any organization. This puts all of your employees in a position to succeed because they can focus on executing their job, which results in high productivity and employee morale.

What business and leadership advice can you give our members?

The most valuable lesson I’ve learned is to be obsessed with your personal & professional development. As leaders we have to set the example at all times. Conflict is inevitable and you must be willing to put your ego and feelings to side when dealing with your respective team members. This fact is very evident in leadership when it is time to coach your individual performers through their respective opportunities. If you are not willing to continuously work on yourself, how can you expect those you lead to do the same.

What inspires you?

HUMAN POTENTIAL... What’s played a significant factor in my recent development, both professionally and personally, is being comfortable in my own skin. One of the main challenges I had growing up as a first generation Hispanic-American was having to figure out what “success” looked like. Being part of an environment where survival was everything we only worried about the results and never the “why.” Success to me and my sibling meant going to college and getting a good job because to our family that was the “American Dream”. During my tenure at my previous organization I experienced success, but never really tapped into my “why”. It wasn’t until I came to Cintas, through my relationships with our GREAT leaders and professional development, that I discovered my purpose. As a result, I’ve become much more comfortable in my own skin, which has fueled my purpose as a transformational leader. This has pushed me to help the very Partners I lead on a daily basis find their fulfillment within our organization. If our ultimate goal is to exceed our customer’s expectations, then we MUST exceed our Partner’s expectations first. My sincere goal to help others figure out their “why.” This will inevitably lead them to become comfortable in their own skin and take their career to the next level.
