Minority Contracting Review Panel Formed
 

FREDERICK, MD – April 11, 2018: Mayor Michael O’Connor has selected members for the City of Frederick’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program Review Panel.

The purpose of the panel is to assist in review of the program and the development of an annual report concerning the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program. The panel has scheduled its first organizational public meeting for 9 a.m., April 17, in room 212 at City Hall, 101 N. Court St.

“We recognize the importance and responsibility of awarding contracts to those businesses socially and/or economically disadvantaged, and it is the policy of the City to utilize disadvantaged business enterprises in all aspects of contracting,” O’Connor said. “I look for this panel to review how well the City is implementing the policy.”

The mayor invited eight members of the public and one alderman to serve on the panel, with support from three City staff members:

The panel will establish a regular meeting schedule, along with its general operating structure.
