Dear members and friends,

First, I would like to express our deepest condolences to the family of Kevin Kamenetz, Baltimore County Executive, and a good friend of the MDHCC. Many in the MDHCC family have felt his passing and his memory will live in our hearts. Our commitment to expanding opportunities for Hispanic own businesses in Baltimore County will continue, and we will carry on standing for the basic human principles of decency, fairness, and equality.

I also want to extend a personal invitation for two upcoming and very important events. Our first-ever MDHCC Entrepreneurship Expo: The Future of Food will take place on May 31, 2018 and will bring together and highlight entrepreneurs & businesses, (#foodpreneurs) and their social innovative solutions to some of the problems we are seeing with food:

Community Collaboration | Urban Farming
Sustainability | Health and Nutrition | Funding

The second event is a continuation of our BAM! Program. MDHCC is offering an exclusive MDHCC Roundtable for qualifying MDHCC members who are business owners and/or founders. Our info session, in partnership with the Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation and MDHCC Roundtable Sponsor, The 8(a) Authority, was a great success. I invite you to complete an application to be considered to participate in our 12-month program. For a limited time, you can take advantage of this unique opportunity by registering early. The discounted price, available exclusively to our members, is only $250 for the year. This is an early bird pricing which expires May 31, 2018. More information here: bit.ly/MDHCC-Roundtable

And before I wish you a Memorial Day Weekend filled with family, friends and reflection, please consider joining our #MDHCCExceptional Team. If you reside or work in the Prince George’s, Frederick and Montgomery County areas and are interested in a committee or leadership position in MDHCC’s Capitol Area Regional Chapter (CARC), please send an email with a resume/cv and a letter of intent to info@mdhcc.org to be considered. Requirements are: unbendable ethics, vision, a desire to help without expecting returns to benefit you or your business directly (you and your business will benefit tremendously in the long term, however), grit, perseverance and commitment to follow through with what you say you will do.

Onward!
